UAE Launches Measles Immunization Campaign
An important health initiative has been launched by the UAE. This is a measles vaccination campaign throughout the country. Measles is a very highly contagious disease. Especially in areas with low vaccination rates, it’s easy for the disease to spread fast. This is critical protection for the people — especially children. Severe complications, such as pneumonia and encephalitis’ can be caused by measles. At the same time, the government is making efforts to build immunity and protect the vulnerable.

It’s just what this campaign needed. There are no cases of measles in the UAE. However, the World Health Organization reports a rise in outbreaks, worldwide. Preventable diseases have come back because of vaccine hesitancy and healthcare disruptions. The UAE wants to stop this trend. Children between nine months to 6 years are targeted. It also targets healthcare workers, as well as those in close contact with vulnerable people. Our intention is to get it to the people most in need.

Parents are being urged to get into the act. The best way to prevent measles is with vaccination. Two doses of the vaccine are 97 percent effective, says the World Health Organization. Vaccinating in the UAE is made easy by health authorities. Vaccines are available free at public and government accepted centers. They are free of charge. Ending measles is the commitment that this shows the government of as.
Senior immunologist Dr Fatima Al Mahmoud emphasizes the need for herd immunity. “We can stop measles from spreading when most people are vaccinated,” she says. That protects those who are vaccinated and those who can’t get vaccinated.” The campaign is urging everyone to view vaccination as not something of a personal choice, but a social responsibility.

But the steps are simple and require quick actions. If parents are still not with you, they should immediately visit the nearest healthcare center. They can also register online through state government health portal to book an appointment. They’re also providing resources to answer questions, to help people feel safe about the vaccine. Making a move now will ensure infection rates stay low. UAE intends to be a role model in public health worldwide.
As the campaign moves forward, the message is simple: to participate, to protect, to prevent. Today these small actions will keep families and communities safe. Each vaccination counts. Reducing risk for everyone, it illustrates the UAE’s dedication to public health. No matter if you or someone else books an appointment for your child or someone they know, even small steps now could contribute to a healthier future for everyone.
